YEREVAN. – Discussions on the appointment and dismissal of Armenia’s cabinet members are ongoing ever since the May 6 National Assembly [NA] elections, Irates De Facto writes.

“Aside from the discussion of the likely candidates for the PM’s post, the political minds are also busy these days with the matter of Parliament Speaker.

The name of former NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan is always noted as the most likely from among the names being circulated.

But another NA Speaker candidate’s name was put into circulation yesterday [Monday]. According to the newspaper’s information, Vigen Sargsyan, who is the current Presidential Chief of Staff and who entered the Parliament with the proportional [election] list of the [Republican Party of Armenia] RPA, could be designated head of the legislative branch,” Irates De Facto writes.
