YEREVAN. – Zhamanak daily tried to ascertain whether Armenia’s opposition Republic Party leader Aram Sargsyan could nominate his candidacy for the 2013 presidential elections.

“In response, Republic Party member Suren Abrahamyan said the Party held no [such] discussion to this point.

‘Certainly, we will be very actively involved in all domestic political processes, [and] we will support that [presidential] candidate who will favor a decisive, systemic change in power,’ [he said].

[And] To the question as to whether that candidate is no one else but Aram Sargsyan, Suren Abrahamyan said: ‘There was no discussion on these issues,’” Zhamanak writes.
