Hraparak : Armenian opposition not to participate in Gyumri mayoral election
YEREVAN.- The opposition Armenian National Congress bloc has not issued any statement regarding nomination of candidate for the post of Gyumri Mayor. However, the ANC bloc is likely not to participate in the election, Hraparak newspaper writes.
According to member of ANC, head of Democratic Motherland party Petros Makeyan, no decision had been made so far.
“If the process is smooth for the authorities, it means everything has been decided and the opposition has nothing to do,” Makeyan told Hraparak.
Makeyan said he is well aware of the developments in Armenia’s second largest city Gyumrui and the opposition would hardly play crucial role in the mayoral election.
