YEREVAN. – Incumbent village prefect, ruling Republican Party member Kamo Chobanyan (born in 1971), his wife—non-party affiliate and housewife—Lilit Yeghiazaryan (born in 1977), and Prosperous Armenia Party member, private entrepreneur Samvel Musinyan (born in 1957) were nominated village prefect candidates at Tavush Region’s frontier Verin Karmiraghbyur village—whose population is 1,708—for the local government elections to be held there on September 23, Aravot daily reports.

“Tavush Region’s Electoral District Commission (EDC) No. 41 informed that all three candidates had self-nominated. [But] We [also] learned from EDC No. 41 that Lilit Yeghiazaryan had come to the Commission, on the next after being nominated and in a somber appearance, and withdrawn her candidacy,” Aravot writes.
