YEREVAN. – Some of Armenian capital city Yerevan’s road police have expressed a wish to work in the country’s regions because of the devices that are video recording the city’s traffic. The more these video cameras are installed, the police staff will reduce that much more, Irates De Facto newspaper reports.

“We attempted to clarify from the Police as to the accuracy of this information. Partially corroborating this news, the Police conveyed us that there will not be a downsizing, but rather lesser number of police officers on the streets because there already are video-recording devices.

Does this not mean the road police will no longer be hired as such and the remaining will be dismissed? ‘No. The working road police will begin to carry out other type of work,’ the Police assured,” Irates De Facto writes.
