YEREVAN. – In an interview with Hayots Ashkharh daily, ruling Republican Party Spokesman and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov specifically said:

“So long as the [Prosperous Armenia Party] PAP has not formally withdrawn its signature from the coalition memorandum it signed in 2011, it means this political force will support incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan in the 2013 presidential elections.

[But] At the same time I accept and assert that solely the PAP can decide the kind of position it will have during the forthcoming presidential elections.

[Yet] I repeat; for us, the PAP’s official view is solely the official view of PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan. And since there is no other official document—with respect to the presidential elections—under which there is Gagik Tsarukyan’s signature, he will support President Serzh Sargsyan’s nomination,” Hayots Ashkharh cites.
