YEREVAN. – Speaking about the assassination attempt that was staged against Armenia’s presidential candidate, opposition National Self-Determination Union Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan, and the killer who “missed,” a person who is informed of the law enforcement activities said, in such cases, the killer attempts to leave Armenia immediately after having committed the crime, Hraparak daily reports.   

“[He leaves] primarily by land; the airway is more perilous and unpredictable, as compared to land. [But] in both cases the perpetrator is found with difficulty.  

It is true that air and land ‘SOS’ is declared, but there are no clear mechanisms toward finding the criminals quickly and depriving [them] of the chance to leave the country, since the factor of finding is a sensory manifestation.      

Also, our interlocutor believes the assassination attempt against Paruyr Hayrikyan was a result of a classical political calculation, as they shoot at someone but, in reality, they send a ‘message’ to caution completely other people,” Hraparak writes.
