YEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP Artak Zakaryan had petitioned opposition Heritage Party Chairman Raffi Hovannisian with a request that Heritage MP Tevan Poghosyan, and not Heritage MP Zaruhi Postanjyan, attend the plenary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Aravot daily reports. 

“This request was based on the grounds that the Azerbaijani delegation will attempt to again manifest an extremely anti-Armenian demeanor at that platform, and Tevan Poghosyan will be needed there because he has extensive work experience with the representatives of Azerbaijan’s civil network.

Even though Raffi Hovannisian gave prior consent, the members of our delegation were surprised by seeing Zaruhi Postanjyan at the airport. At any rate, according to our information, this did not at all interfere with Tevan Poghosyan being useful for our delegates. He provided his assistance so that anti-Armenian formulations are not included in the final document,” Aravot writes.
