YEREVAN. – In an interview with Aravot daily, Armenian Deputy FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan reflected on several important foreign policy issues, the daily reports.

“In terms of the policy of integration with Europe, he specifically noted: ‘Ever since the independence of Armenia, integration with EU continues to be one of Armenia’s foreign policy priorities. Our cooperation with EU has greatly contributed to the establishment of a democratic society, the development of economy, [and] the establishment and development of the institutions of state governance in Armenia. We have a very important process, which is the Association Agreement talks with EU; this agreement is in the final phase.

“At the same time, we have contractual political relations along the lines of a variety of organizations, and it is unrealistic to conduct a policy of conflicting one direction to another direction. There is no [such] element in the Association Agreement, and we could not permit this, which may create a discrepancy in the other directions of our partnership,’” Aravot quotes.
