YEREVAN. – Hearing the journalist’s response that we do not know what Russia-led Customs Union really represents, Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdzisław Raczyński told the following to Aravot daily:

“That is the issue. We cannot say that the EU Association Agreement with Armenia was kept secret because hundreds of people—analysts, politicians—from the Armenian side participated in the preparation of this document.

“This agreement is known to many—to the [Armenian] Government—, and I am sure that it is also known to our Russian partners, and they knew that it is a mere regulatory document.

“I accept the fact that the document’s not being disclosed has caused some speculations. But the European Commission and Armenia are the parties to the agreement and, as far as I understand it, none of the parties has rejected it, and it remains on the table, albeit it is not moving ahead so far.”
