YEREVAN. – “Our sources at the Armenian Foreign Ministry claim that Armenia has developed a new road map for the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations,” Aravot daily reports.

“It [i.e., the road map] was conveyed ten days ago to [Turkish FM] Ahmet Davutoglu, in person, through closed channels,

“The same source claims that the map is about three specific points:

“1) Turkey should publicly recognize the fact of the Armenian Genocide, its accountability [in it], and atone for it before Armenians worldwide.

“2) It should open the Armenian-Turkish border forthwith and establish diplomatic relations with Armenia.

“3) Subsequently, Turkey will be able to carry out peacekeeping efforts in the NKR [i.e., the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic] conflict settlement, and it will receive the right to conduct public programs to prevent the resumption of war rhetoric, border incidents, [and] the withdrawal of snipers and prepare the societies for peace.

“It is believed that within the framework of Davutoglu’s visit to [Armenian capital city] Yerevan, he will have the opportunity to inform [Armenian FM] Edward Nalbandian about official Ankara’s position on the road map,” Aravot also writes.
