YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia has submitted a bill for discussion at the National Assembly special session, Chorrord Ishkhanutyun daily reports.

“Pursuant to which, as of January 1, 2014, the one and 1.5 million drams [approx. $2,456-$3,685], which are respectively envisioned for the birth of the third and more children [in a family], will no longer be given in cash to the parents.

“The government plans to give the 500,000 [approx. $1,228] drams in cash, but to turn the remaining amount into a family endowment fund.

“The parent may spend the family endowment fund for three purposes: the children’s tuition fees; housing-related mortgage loan; and health insurance,” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun writes.
