YEREVAN. – Several Armenian ministries have decided not to throw “corporative” New Year parties this year, to save money, Chorrord Ishkhanutyun daily reports.

“We believe the reason is more than clear. [Russian President] Vladimir Putin had announced just a few months ago that these ‘corporative are a disgrace.’ He, of course, was speaking for Russia, but who knows.             

“Not throwing corporative parties at the expense of the budget is certainly good. But there is another matter of concern for us.

“Vladimir Putin officially divorced from his wife several months ago, and numerous officials in Russia immediately followed his example.     

“We are not implying anything; we are just sincerely concerned about the firmness of the families of several of our ministers,” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun writes.
