YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated that one of the Armenian government’s challenges is poverty reduction, “which came about in the [19]92s and the [19]93s, when the country experienced a collapse,” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun daily reports.

“When Tigran Sargsyan assumed the office of the PM, the poverty rate in Armenia was 23 percent. [But] ‘owing to’ his premiership, this figure rose to 32 percent. Moreover, he himself stated that poverty [in the country] is actually twice as much.

“What does the collapse of the [19]92s and the [19]93s has to do with this?

“Such a thing really happened, but, subsequently, the situation was surmounted step by step. Does Tigran Sargsyan hope that people do not understand this simple thing?

“In reality, however, the economic collapse is the very government of Tigran Sargsyan,” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun writes.
