YEREVAN. – Making contradictory statements has become a habit for the Armenian authorities, Zhoghovurd daily reports.

“[PM] Tigran Sargsyan, in his final news conference for 2013, had stated that they will fight against poverty by creating jobs.

‘“This means that jobs that ensure at least a 150,000-dram [monthly] income must be created.’

“But in February, the very same Sargsyan was claiming: ‘We have high-wage jobs yet, unfortunately, we are unable to fill these jobs.’

“And in January 2013, [President] Serzh Sargsyan had stated several times: ‘The [capital city] Yerevan residents do not want to work at 130,000-140,000-dram-salary jobs because, with that, they will not be able to take care of their concerns.’

“Let the reader decide who is more honest from them,” Zhoghovurd writes.

In line with the current exchange rate, USD 1 is equivalent to approximately AMD 409.
