YEREVAN. – Following the well-known September 3 announcement on Armenia planning to join the Customs Union, a conference on Armenia-European Union (EU) cooperation was convened Wednesday for the first time in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“During it they discussed which of the EU’s previous programs [in Armenia] will continue to be implemented in the coming years.

“By and large, the conference was envisioned for representatives of the stakeholders making use of the EU projects in Armenia. But it had a tendency to show that Armenia-EU relations are clarified more or less, and a work process has begun after a few months’ hiatus.

“During the conference, however, the most important was not announced: How much money will the EU provide for Armenia to carry out these programs?” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
