YEREVAN. – Zhamanak daily has learned that one name is circulated as Armenia’s new ambassador to Georgia, the daily reported.

“Van Bayburd, the Armenian adviser to former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, told us that the word is about Olympic champion [and previous Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Armenia] Yuri Vardanyan.

“If he is ultimately appointed ambassador, as per Bayburd, it will be positive because he will be able to use in this position the knowhow and the connections, the Western system of values he has accumulated in the US [where he lived] for around twenty years and more,” Zhamanak wrote.
