YEREVAN. – According to the press, the Armenia MFA is seriously considering the matter of appointing oligarch and MP Samvel Aleksanyan as ambassador to Iraq, Chorrord Ishkhanutyun newspaper reported.

“This certainly is the most effective step in terms of ensuring a level playing field in Armenia. But [this appointment] can cause problems in foreign policy.

“The thing is that Iraq and Iran are neighboring countries. If you noticed, there is only a one letter difference between the names of the two countries. And who better than Mr. Aleksanyan knows how you can, by just changing a letter, .... 

“[But] it is better to [just] wish Mr. Aleksanyan success in the diplomatic arena,” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun wrote.
