YEREVAN. – Just like his tenure as Prime Minister, ex-PM Tigran Sargsyan’s tenure as Ambassador to US will not go off without a hitch, Hraparak daily reported.    

“According to our information, the démarche, which the Armenian forum of the USA had begun in the form of a signature campaign [against Sargsyan’s appointment as Ambassador to US], may turn into a powerful boycott against Tigran Sargsyan, especially in the meetings with the Armenian community. 

“And during his visits to ‘Little Armenia’—Los Angeles, Glendale—strong protests will be organized, ‘notes’ [of complaints] will be sent to the municipal authorities; there is quite a lot of [Armenian] oppositional masses there.  

“Aside from the ‘personal dislike’ towards Tigran Sargsyan, they also have a political fear that Tigran may return [to Armenia] in 2018 as Armenian presidential candidate, which they are attempting to stifle in the very cradle,” Hraparak wrote.
