YEREVAN. – In parallel with the delay in Armenia’s Customs Union (CU) accession, the US has become more active here, Irates De Facto newspaper reported.

“According to analysts, American diplomacy is very delicate and unwavering, [and] therefore they are doing everything so that the Russian influence in Armenia be as little as possible. In this regard, the Americans are exerting every effort and are attempting to be involved in economic transactions, too. According to our source, the US will try to increase its presence in the economy [of Armenia] by acquiring ‘special’ purpose properties.

“In the case when the western officials reacted furiously and organized a ‘counterattack’ at the initial phase of Armenia’s [Russia-led] Customs Union accession decision, the situation has changed today, and there is serious collision in the Russian-American tandem.

“According to our source close to the US Embassy [in Armenia], the US will never give Armenia up and it will pursue its game until the end reaping as greater benefits as possible,” Irates De Facto wrote.
