YEREVAN. – The Information and Press Department of the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RF MFA) has formally responded to Haykakan Zhamanak daily’s written questions concerning Armenia’s Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) accession process, the daily reported.

“To the query on whether the delay in the signing of the accession treaty is due to the ongoing talks with respect to the customs duties of around 900 products, they have responded [as follows]:

‘“All matters are practically resolved. Several aspects have remained which will be resolved in the near future. Nonetheless, one should take into account that multilateral agreements are always difficult to coordinate. Every country is guided by its national interests, which must be taken into account to develop a compromise decision. This also refers to Armenia, which defends its position consistently and with reason. [But] at the same time, this does not mean that no member country of the Union supports Armenia’s joining the EaEU in the closest time,’” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
