YEREVAN. – The disagreements between Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan are already apparent, Zhoghovurd daily reported.

“During yesterday’s [Thursday] government session, the Ministry of Territorial Administration had introduced a draft resolution on allocating 4 billion drams [approx. $9,742,836] to Yerevan Municipality.

“And when Mayor Taron Margaryan was introducing the draft, Hovik Abrahamyan intervened: ‘Margaryan, but we had agreed to give that 9 million [drams; approx. $21,921] at the end of the year.’

“‘Mr. Prime Minister, we envision that money for the initial payments,’ Margaryan countered. But Abrahamyan remained adamant: ‘We’ll do as we had agreed.’

Zhoghovurd has learned that a decision was made recently to introduce this matter to the government session despite the agreement reached with Abrahamyan. Perhaps this surprise was the reason for Abrahamyan to get angry and reject the proposal,” the daily wrote.
