YEREVAN. – The position of Armenia’s representative at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) is vacant because Armenia’s representative, Judge Alvina Gyulumyan, was recalled ahead of time and appointed Constitutional Court judge, Zhamanak daily reported.

“Now, a contest [for Armenia’s next judge at ECtHR] is announced and a document acceptance process is underway, which will run until September 24.

“Zhamanak has learned, however, that Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan is viewed as Armenia’s most likely representative at ECtHR. At present, Kostanyan’s matter is put for a serious discussion,” Zhamanak wrote.
