YEREVAN. – Because of financial problems in Air Armenia airline company, its four flights to Saint Petersburg, Russia, and two flights to Moscow and Athens were canceled on Monday, Zhamanak daily reported.

“The airline owes about $5 million to the company from which it purchased two airplanes, and it has not given [back] the amount.

“The situation has aggravated to the extent that the Dubai company, which sold aircrafts to the airline, took them back, and therefore the airline canceled its [aforementioned] flights.

“Air Armenia has solely one aircraft at this point.

“Zhamanak has learned that [Armenian Government-Affiliated] General Department of Civil Aviation Head Artyom Movsesyan held a meeting-discussion with representative of the respective Dubai company, [and] related to this matter,” Zhamanak wrote.
