YEREVAN. – The assurances about the need to strengthen Russian-Azerbaijani military cooperation have started to be heard more often, Aravot daily reported.
“The next EaEU [i.e., Eurasian Economic Union] summit is slated for December of this year in Moscow. What trap is being prepared this time for Armenia and Karabakh?
“Ultimately, the EaEU treaty and the CU [i.e., Customs Union] Charter imply that a customs checkpoint needs to be stationed between Armenia and the NKR [i.e., Nagorno-Karabakh Republic]. The claims about this being a formality can solely be a policy toward justifying Moscow’s whims in every way.
“Is [Kazakhstan President Nursultan] Nazarbayev’s mentioned matter, ‘which requires finesse to achieve compromise’ and which was agreed upon at the Eurasian backstage, the stationing of a customs checkpoint between Armenia and Karabakh?” Aravot wrote.
