YEREVAN. – 168 Zham daily has learned that the name of ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (NA) Faction member Vardan Ayvazyan, who is also a member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, is especially considered for the position of Deputy PM and Territorial Administration Minister, the daily reported.     

“We tried to verify this information in person by Ayvazyan, but he did not answer our telephone calls.

“After Armen Gevorgyan’s resignation [from the aforesaid post], the names of Transport and Communication Minister Gagik Beglaryan, former Nature Protection Minister, Governor of Kotayk Region Aram Harutyunyan, and Government Chief of Staff-Minister Davit Harutyunyan also are noted among the candidates for the new member of the government.     

“[Opposition Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party] RLP Chairman Arthur Baghdasaryan and Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, [on the other hand, and] who are considered the other possible candidates, have denied the possibility of their appointment [to this post],” 168 Zham wrote.
