YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily has learned that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the three non-government National Assembly (NA) forces (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, and Heritage Parties) may soon announce about starting political negotiations, the daily reported.

“It is believed that sometime thereafter, they also will declare that the parties have agreed. [Accordingly,] the RPA will decline from changing the presidential form of governance, but agree to the 100 percent proportional parliamentary [system of governance] option.

“It is believed that the [respective] ‘talks’ shall complete by the end of the year. In this case, the NA may designate a constitutional referendum in mid-April, and [early] parliamentary elections may be held in late June.

“The possibility of this scenario is shown by the information, according to which meetings are held these days in virtually all RPA organization, [and] on the topic of organizing elections,” Zhoghovurd wrote.
