YEREVAN. – The ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) has begun playing in the opposition field. Its representative—and former FM—Vartan Oskanian, together with the opposition political forces, on Wednesday signed under the document on “Forming a Joint Headquarters for [parliamentary] Election Public Oversight,” Zhoghovurd daily writes.    

“Zhoghovurd learned that the PAP resorted to this step after an agreement with [President] Serzh Sargsyan. And the objective is to take on the image of an opposition and to snatch the opposition votes prior to the elections. And this is the very reason why the PAP was formed at the time.

To our question as to whether this step by the PAP was agreed with Serzh Sargsyan, PAP Chairman [Gagik} Tsarukyan’s spokesperson Khachik Galstyan responded: ‘I cannot answer that question,’” Zhoghovurd writes.
