YEREVAN.- If the ruling Republican Party takes on the responsibility to hold free and transparent elections, Armenia’s Communist Party will welcome the initiative.

Head of the party Ruben Tovmasyan commented for Armenian News-NEWS.am on the statement of Republican Party’s member David Harutyunyan on creation of a headquarters on public control over elections by several political forces.

Tovmasyan said the Communist Party always raised the issue on free and fair elections underscoring the necessity to struggle against election rigging.

“We are ready to cooperate with the political forces which are true supporters of free and transparent elections,” he said.
