YEREVAN. – The ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia MP, National Assembly deputy candidate from capital Yerevan’s Election Precinct No. 1—and Football Federation of Armenia President—Ruben Hayrapetyan will feel insulted by defeating in a debate Gayane Arustamyan, the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress’ (ANC) female member, who is likewise running for a parliamentary seat—in the upcoming National Assembly elections—from the same Precinct, and therefore Hayrapetyan is prepared to solely debate with the ANC leader, and Armenia’s First President, Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Ruben Hayrapetyan told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am, reflecting on Arustamyan’s invitation for a debate.    

“Gayane Arustamyan is a woman, and I would feel offended by defeating her in a debate. I will enter into a political debate solely with her leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, anytime,” Hayrapetyan noted.
