YEREVAN. – Milan Governor Guido Podesta is for the first time in Armenia. And the sensation he gained was that of brotherhood and friendship, the Governor said in an exclusive interview for the Armenian News-NEWS.am adding he arrived in Armenia on the occasion of the proclamation of Yerevan as 2012 World Book Capital City by UNESCO.

There are wide opportunities to cooperate with Armenia, including cooperation in economic organizations, agriculture, chemistry, pharmacy, design and tourism sphere.

Asked what fields are especially productive for deepening cooperation, the Governor said the first aspect may be economic and cultural partnership. In addition, Italian side gives much importance to the CIS states and Armenia may serve as an arena for this. Eventually, it is possible to establish free economic zone.

In response to what Podesta liked much in Armenia, he said being an architect he liked the airport. Besides, he may come back in October to watch Armenia-Italy football match and even to support the Armenian national team, he added, smiling.
