Russia is not considering the possibility of leaving the OPEC+ format, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

“No,” he replied to the relevant question.

Peskov was asked this question in the context of news that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to leave the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and OPEC+.

OPEC was founded in 1960 at the initiative of the largest oil-producing countries: Venezuela, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. After the withdrawal of the UAE, 11 countries will remain in this organization. The expanded OPEC+ format includes a number of other oil-producing countries, including Russia.
