The Russian government has extended the period of temporary stay in Russia for professional drivers from the other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries—including Armenia—and Georgia.
The period is now up to 180 days.
The respective decision was published on the official portal of legal information of Russia.
Guided by the law on the legal status of foreign citizens in Russia, the Russian government has decided to extend the period of temporary stay for citizens of the other CIS member states and Georgia who are professional drivers engaged in international cargo transportation and have arrived in Russia without a visa, up to a total of 180 days within one calendar year, the decision notes.
But this will apply only to the aforesaid foreign citizens who have submitted an application in accordance with the established procedure for entering Russia and temporarily staying in the country.
