Cole Thomas Allen, accused of attempting to kill U.S. President Donald Trump, took a selfie in a room at the Washington Hilton about half an hour before the incident, the New York Post reported.
According to the publication’s analysis of the photo, he appeared to be carrying two types of firearms, ammunition, several knives, as well as pliers and wire cutters. In the image, the man is seen wearing a black suit with a red tie.
The incident occurred on April 25 in Washington during the annual White House Correspondents’ Association reception, attended by senior members of the U.S. administration. As a result of the shooting, a U.S. Secret Service officer was injured.
The suspect was detained at the scene. It later emerged that he had rented a hotel room in advance and, according to investigators, had managed to bring weapons inside.
