Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that the naval blockade imposed by the United States is aimed at creating internal divisions and weakening the country.
According to him, US President Donald Trump is attempting to split Iranian society into “hardliners” and “moderates,” while simultaneously increasing economic pressure through the blockade of ports.
Ghalibaf noted that Washington has entered a new phase of pressure, combining economic measures and information influence in an effort to “weaken the country or even bring it to internal collapse.”
He called for the preservation of national unity, describing it as the only way to withstand external pressure.
The naval blockade of Iranian ports, according to the report, was imposed by the United States after Tehran closed the Strait of Hormuz — one of the key routes for global oil and gas supplies.
