The Armenian government, at its Cabinet meeting Thursday, approved the bill to ratify the Charter Board of Peace created by US President Donald Trump.

Armenia had signed the Charter of the Board of Peace on January 22. The Charter was signed by the United States on January 16.

The following countries have also signed the Charter: Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mongolia, Morocco, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan.

The Board of Peace is an international organization whose main goal is to promote stability and ensure peace in conflict-affected areas. The Board of Peace shall undertake these peace-building functions, including the development and dissemination of best practices applicable to all nations and communities seeking peace, in accordance with international law and in accordance with the procedure established by the Charter.

The Charter of the Board of Peace shall enter into force when three countries agree to be bound by it.

The Charter of the Board of Peace shall be submitted to Armenia’s National Assembly for ratification.
