The Russian state labeling system, on the instructions of Rospotrebnadzor—the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, has blocked the sale of more than 1 million bottles more of Jermuk mineral water imported from Armenia, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor told RBC.

The decision was made based on the results of the inspection, which revealed violations of mandatory requirements in the samples. Earlier, the sale of more than 338,000 bottles of Jermuk mineral water was suspended in Russia. The import and circulation of individual batches of Jermuk was stopped due to the excess hydrocarbon content

The restrictions were introduced after testing new batches of the product, which were released from October 23, 2025 to March 27, 2026. Violations of mandatory requirements were found in the samples, Rospotrebnadzor explained. The goal was to prevent possible harm to life and health. The circulation of batches with different packaging with nine release dates was blocked.

The Russian state labeling system, after receiving the regulator’s request, promptly suspended the sale of each unit of the product, said Revaz Yusupov, Deputy Director General of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technology (labeling operator) of Russia.
