An MQ-4C Triton strategic reconnaissance drone of the US Navy was damaged in the sky over the Persian Gulf, the Military Air Tracking Alliance (MATA) aviation resource reported Friday on X.
This drone had taken off from the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. It was damaged in the southern part of the Persian Gulf, near Qatar. The US had previously acknowledged the loss of a similar drone, on April 15.
The coordinates of the crash of this drone, however, are not publicized for security reasons. But it is noted that an MQ-4C drone costs almost $240 million.
