We are working on the restoration of the Gyumri-Kars railway, but I can’t say anything about the time frame at the moment. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a press briefing Thursday.

He explained this by the need to conduct numerous assessments of the technical condition of the infrastructure. Pashinyan said that technical problems were detected from time to time.

“We haven’t been properly engaged in this infrastructure for almost 40 years. We need to assess the needs and get to work,” the Armenian PM added.

The special envoys for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey had announced Tuesday their interest in starting the restoration of the Gyumri-Kars railway as soon as possible.
