The Armenian authorities have focused all their attention on Strong Armenia. Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the HayaQve initiative supporting the Strong Armenia initiative, told this to reporters Friday, before the official start of their election campaign for the parliamentary elections on June 7.

According to Chalabyan, the Armenian authorities, busy distributing election bribes through promises of increasing pensions and reducing taxes, as well as realizing that the people are tired of both them and their predecessors, have focused on the leader of the opposition camp, the Strong Armenia leader, Samvel Karapetyan.

Chalabyan views the polls with some reservations, but is confident that the opposition has 70 percent of the total vote. Since many voters have been receiving distorted information from the state-funded Public Television of Armenia for years, Strong Armenia’s goal is to talk to each voter and bring them the truth.

“To explain to them that by choosing [Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan, you are choosing [Turkish president] Erdogan and [Azerbaijani president] Aliyev, you are agreeing to the presence of 300,000 Azerbaijanis in Armenia, the handover of [Armenia’s] Syunik [Province], the destruction of Armenian churches and the Armenian Apostolic Church. You are choosing an Armenia where your children will not want to live,” Chalabyan stated, and called on not to be fooled by low-quality asphalt, not to sell the country’s future in exchange for that asphalt.
