Russia's ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin, commented today, May 9, in a conversation with journalists on the summoning of Armenia's ambassador to the Russian Federation, Gurgen Arsenyan, to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“I suggest you rely on the official statements that have been published. I have nothing to add to that,” Kopyrkin said.

Recall that on May 7, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation, Gurgen Arsenyan, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“The head of the diplomatic mission was told that it is categorically unacceptable for Armenia, within the framework of recent events under the auspices of the EU, to provide a ‘platform’ to the leader of the Kyiv Nazi regime, V. Zelensky, for voicing terrorist threats against Russia. It was emphasized that Moscow feels just indignation in this regard and considers the lack of an appropriate negative assessment by official Yerevan of such outrageous behavior by the aforementioned visitor to be inconsistent with the partnership nature of Russian-Armenian relations,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
