His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, accompanied by high-ranking clergy of the Mother See, visited "Victory" Park today, May 9, on Victory Day.

The Catholicos of All Armenians offered a prayer for the peace of the souls of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the Artsakh Wars.

It should be noted that for many years, May 9 was a triple holiday for Armenians: the day of the Soviet peoples' victory in World War II, the day of the formation of the Artsakh Defense Army, and the day of the liberation of Shushi in 1992. However, Shushi was lost as a result of the painful defeat in the 44-day Artsakh war in November 2020.
