The decision on the vector of Armenia's further development and the future of the country belongs solely to the citizens of Armenia, and the European Union (EU) is ready to provide comprehensive support to this choice. European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos on Monday told this to reporters, commenting on Armenia's recent statements on European integration.

Kos said that recent significant events, including the meeting of the European Political Community and the Armenia-EU summit in Yerevan last week, have clearly shown the direction in which the Armenia seeks to move.

According to her, the European side is attentively recording these signals and intends to support Yerevan in implementing the chosen path.

Only the people of Armenia can decide on their future, the European Commissioner for Enlargement added, confirming Brussels' commitment to the principles of the sovereignty of partner countries.

Also, Marta Kos noted that the EU is well aware of the complex geopolitics of the region and carefully assesses possible risks. According to her, despite external pressures on the integrating countries, Europe is ready to support Armenia's rapprochement with the European family, paying special attention to security issues.
