I disagree with the "divorce" phrasing of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who is currently on vacation and heads the ruling Civil Contract party’s proportional representation list for the parliamentary election on June 7, told this to reporters Monday.

According to Pashinyan, he had said in parliament that interstate relations are often compared to marriage. "I do not agree with that phrasing. Armenia is guided by that logic in interstate relations. We [i.e. Armenia] are a full member of the EAEU, we fully participate in all decision-making. We have no intention of harming Russia's interests," Pashinyan added.

The premier informed that he has spoken on the topic of Armenia's membership in the EAEU many times. "We have had working discussions on this issue with the Russian president. As long as there is no need to make a choice, both de jure and de facto, we are not bringing such an issue to the agenda," the Armenian PM noted.
