Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system has demonstrated an efficiency of about 98-99 percent against Hamas and Hezbollah missiles, and also significantly intercepts missiles launched by Iran, according to Yuval Steinitz, chairman of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, an Israeli government-owned arms corporation.

Steinitz noted that since October 2023, Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon have launched about 40,000 missiles combined towards Israeli territory.

The Iron Dome intercepted most of them with an efficiency that is not 100 percent, but close to it. That is about 98 percent, even 99 percent. It is not perfect, but it is close, Steinitz said.

According to him, Iran has launched approximately 1,500 ballistic missiles at Israel since 2024 in two phases of hostilities, and only a few dozen of them were not intercepted.

Also, Steinitz assured that Israel does not have a shortage of anti-missiles.
