Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: At the start of the [parliamentary] election campaign, CC [i.e. Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party] leader [PM] Nikol Pashinyan distinguished himself with his "sudden" behavior and statements with more shameful content.

Since these days they have been repeatedly raised on all possible and impossible platforms, let's just recall one or two of them in passing. First: Pashinyan stated that "the Karabakh movement was a fatal mistake..." Then Pashinyan stated that "how did that land (Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh]) become ours? Did we build a school there? Did we build a kindergarten? Did we build a factory? Did we live there?..." To put it very briefly, Pashinyan's statements about both the Karabakh movement and Artsakh "how can they be ours" are an ideological and political sabotage against Armenia and the Armenian people.

This is putting it mildly, even very mildly. (...). That is, this is not another “unrelated” statement by Pashinyan, this is not just another manifestation of Pashinyan’s undisguised hatred against Artsakh and the Armenians of Artsakh. This is a much more far-reaching and many times more dangerous statement. (...). And the main and key thing is that the Republic of Armenia, with its sovereignty, state and security structure, and social system, is an immediate and direct historical and political result of the Karabakh movement.

If you want, a birth. Therefore, if Pashinyan declares that the Karabakh movement was a strategic (fatal) mistake, then it is directly the same as if he says that the proclamation and establishment of the Republic of Armenia are wrong, that mistake and its consequences (results) must be eliminated. Simply put, Pashinyan's statement is about the dissolution of the statehood of Armenia. (...).

By the way, about Azerbaijan. During the European Political Community [(EPC)] event [in Yerevan last week] aimed at Pashinyan’s pre-election advertising, the head of the CC literally stated the following: “For the first time in our joint history, Armenia and Azerbaijan are using either the same or very similar language.” This is a significant moment.

Yes, indeed, the language of Pashinyan and [Azerbaijani president] Aliyev, the CC members and the Azerbaijanis is quite parallel and consistent. But not in terms of “empty,” groundless “peace,” which the head of the CC insinuates. Exactly on the above and other issues. Yes, they are identical. Aliyev is also threatening the Armenian people with war, Nikol Pashinyan is also threatening war. Aliyev was saying to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group, Pashinyan petitions to the OSCE with a request to dissolve it (and they dissolved), Aliyev was saying “Karabakh is Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan and his entire CC elite have repeated and are repeating “Karabakh is Azerbaijan.”

And they accepted this in Prague. (...).. During the same EPC exhibition-advertising gathering, Aliyev makes a speech and describes the military-political leadership of Artsakh, the illegally captured figures as terrorists, and the Armenians as separatists, while Pashinyan says nothing.

He even says “thank you.” (...). In other words, what else needs to happen to make it clear that Pashinyan and Aliyev, yes, speak and act in the same direction. Moreover, the issue is both about deleting the preamble to the Constitution of Armenia and the reference to the Declaration of Independence, and, you can be sure, about “the return of 300 thousand Turkic-speaking Azerbaijanis to “Western Azerbaijan.”

In a word, yes, Pashinyan and Aliyev have very similar or almost the same speech. The whole issue is that the content of that “speech” has nothing to do with the interests of Armenia and Armenians. Moreover, it is radically contrary to the interests of Armenians and Armenia.
