Armenian ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan visited the Norduz checkpoint on Iran-Armenia border, where he met with Jolfa County governor Yahya Dashti, head of Norduz border checkpoint Mohammad Ebrahim Noushiranzadeh, as well as Iranian consul general in Kapan, Armenia, Morteza Abedin Varamin, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Armenian embassy in Iran.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the deepening of cooperation between the border checkpoints of the two countries, facilitating the transit of trucks, eliminating existing obstacles, and providing proper service to people at these checkpoints.
Ambassador Hakobyan highlighted the activities of Armenia’s Meghri and Iran’s Norduz border checkpoints during the military operations, which, under the existing conditions, served numerous people without significant obstacles.
The Armenian ambassador noted that the reconstruction of the Meghri border crossing and the construction of the second border bridge will allow for an increase in transport capacity and promote trade and economic relations between Armenia and Iran.
