Iran's goal is to achieve lasting peace, said Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani.

"We [i.e. Iran] have been fighting against the largest military power [i.e. the US] for 40 days. We are still in a state of readiness, but [at the same time] we are waiting for the future fate of the negotiation process to be clarified. Our main goal is to achieve lasting peace," Mohajerani said, Iranian SNN television reports.
