The Republic Day of Armenia is celebrated in 2026 in completely new historical conditions. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during his address at the military parade in Yerevan’s Republic Square dedicated to the 108th anniversary of the proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia.

“After almost 35 years of conflict, peace has been established between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Peace is what the First Republic of Armenia lacked to preserve and develop its independence. Today, we are overcoming the hang-up of the state’s temporality left over from the times of the First Republic and adopting an agenda of state permanence, guided by the logic that the state of Armenia must exist forever,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, today the Armenian army is a factor of peace, not war, because a country with a combat-ready but weak army can become appealing for aggression.

"Today we present to you the new army of the Republic of Armenia, with new weapons, new uniforms, and a new ideology. Today's [military] parade will showcase military products from seven countries. The products of the military-industrial complex of the Republic of Armenia, which is taking its first but confident steps on the way to entering international markets, will also be presented," the premier said.
