The existence of the First Republic, with its achievements and failures, is an important lesson for us. Fourth President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, noted this in his message on the occasion of the Republic Day anniversary in Armenia.

Sarkissian stated as follows in his message: “Today we celebrate the Republic Day and the 108th anniversary of the proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia. May 28 is marked in Armenian history as a day of national awakening and revival, unity and consolidation. The existence of the First Republic, with its achievements and failures, is an important lesson for us and a reminder that the awareness, and protection of statehood, national identity and values are the guarantee of an independent, strong, and secure state.”
